Athletics SA (ASA) is planning to implement a uniform selection criteria for international competitions over the next four years.

According to Timeslive, ASA had a council meeting in Johannesburg where a draft document containing the standards was shared.

ASA qualifying criteria cannot have less strict standards than the IAAF standards nor can they lengthen the qualifying window periods.

ASA will have two sets of qualifying criteria, A will be the ultra-tough criteria and B will be one required by International Association Athletics Federation (IAAF).
