How high can they vault?

In the last six years, the North Jersey indoor boys list of 15-foot pole vaulters has tripled from two to six with NV/Old Tappan teammates Tyler Hrbek, the 2018 state indoor champion and Seth Kricheff, the 2017 state indoor champion, both clearing 15 feet last winter.

Pascack Hills senior Liam Landau should become the seventh indoor vaulter over the 15 foot barrier early in the season. He cleared a Bergen outdoor record of 15-7½ last spring and hopes to become North Jersey’s first 16 footer sometime this year. The state record is 16-3¼, set by Adam Sarafian if Ocean Township in 16-3¼.
