Cherokee took over the Cherokee County track scene a season ago.
The Warriors swept the boys and girls county championships and sent the most athletes to the state meet, and they will look to continue that success as they open this season as the target.
“We just need to continue to develop the talent we have,” Cherokee coach Georgy Anderson said. “We have a large group and large numbers coming back. A good portion of it were athletes who were our state meet kids too. Sending so many kids to state last year just really opened some eyes for our young kids coming up.”
