ASHLAND — Former Ashland University pole vaulter Katie Nageotte keeps reaching for the stars.

She got a little closer to space on Tuesday (July 11) in Gothenburg, Sweden, as she cleared a personal-best vault of 4.72 meters. That mark puts Nageotte fifth all-time in United States outdoor history and seventh all-time in the U.S., indoors or outdoors, among women’s pole vaulters.

Nageotte will compete in a meet in Rottach, Germany, this week, but is taking her future schedule meet-to-meet due to injury.
