Dustin Meyer, a senior at Gates Chili, has a matching set of high school state championships.

Meyer cleared 15 feet during the pole vault competition Friday during the outdoor state meet at Middletown, Orange County. His jump was the highest among vaulters at Division I (large schools) in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, giving him a championship to go along with the 2018 indoor state title he won as a junior.

Meyer injured his ankle in warmups prior to the Section V Class AA championships on May 25.
