Fair Lawn senior Jessica Ippolito was disappointed halfway through the 2017 track and field season.

The Lady Cutters’ pole vaulter was far behind her goal as the meets were starting to dwindle in her final season at Fair Lawn.

“I was doing 11s (feet) and it was the middle of the season,” said Ippolito.

But as the season hit the state tournament, Ippolito started to turn it up and hit her zenith at the state Meet of Champions on June 10 at Northern Burlington High School.

The senior pole vaulter really ramped it up at the SMOC and would reach her goal of registering a 12-6 vault on her second try.
