Derek Horton won the pole vault to lead IUP at its indoor season opener at the YSU Icebreaker meet at Youngstown State’s Watson and Tressel Training Site on Saturday.

Horton cleared a height of 16 feet, 1.75 inches for his second career win to clear the NCAA provision mark, and Derek Noll claimed first in the 800 meters with a time of one minute, 55.76 seconds. Also placing for the Crimson Hawks, Daniel Jackson took second in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 2.25 inches, and Christian Jones was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 6-6.75. Dylan Ruefle placed second in the 1,000 meters in 2:39.04.
