PITTSBURG, Kan. — Halle Irvine, a sophomore from West Valley, earned All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the pole vault during the first day of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

Irvine scaled a career-best 12 feet, 51/4 inches in her first national competition.

Senior Ali Anderson set an indoor school record in the 400-meter prelims, clocking 54.98 seconds. Anderson will compete in the 400 finals and pentathlon on Saturday.
