Olivia Lyon is anxious to find out what kind of new standards she can establish in the pole vault by giving the event her full attention.
At the same time, she’s increasingly grateful for her experience in another sport.
Lyon was able to set Ozark’s school record in the pole vault as a sophomore two years ago as a wide-eyed rookie. She qualified for State as a junior last year while still playing other sports.
“I started practicing (the pole vault) more last year. But I was still into other sports,” Lyon said. “It was kind of hard juggling all of that. So, I’m excited to fully invest myself in the pole vault this year and reach my potential.”
