GREENSBORO, N.C. — Rising Milton Area High School senior Brant Long recently took second place in the pole vault (Men’s Emerging Elite Pole Vault) at the New Balance National Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at North Carolina A&T University.

Long, who on May 25 took PIAA gold at Shippensburg (14-9), set a new personal best with a clear of 15-1.5 in Greensboro.

The winner, Colton Emeott of Michigan, cleared 15-7.25. Six vaulters tied for second in the 39-vaulter field.

Long holds the school record at Milton, which he set with his gold-medal-winning clear at states at Shippensburg.
