EJ Obiena believes opportunity will finally come this time when he seeks to make it to the Asian Games in Indonesia next year.

Disaster struck the 22-year-old pole vaulter twice in two years as he failed to show his worth in the international stage.

In 2016, he failed to compete in an Olympic qualifier for the Rio Games after his pole was damaged during the flight. A year later, he tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during training just a few weeks before the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
