Oxford native named top male track and field athlete

OXFORD, MS (WMC) –We are sending a High 5 to an Oxford-native and Olympian.

Sam Kendricks has been named the top male athlete in track and field.

Kendricks had a perfect pole-vaulting season, winning all 17 of his competitions over 15 months, all across the world.

I am so glad we finally have someone who cares and represents our event.. Going through high school it was very obvious that most high school coaches and track teams really did not know much about the sport or care to even learn the sport or could not afford the event..
