After making several practice jumps at 11 feet 6 inches in the pole vault, Marysville junior Grace Stohs finally cleared that height in a meet — which broke her school record.

Stohs entered the pole vault Tuesday when the bar reached 10 feet during the upper division competition at the Lions Club Invitational in Belleville. She didn’t miss till her three attempts at 12-0, nicking the bar on the way down on her final attempt en route to a first-place finish and meet record.
