Tate Curran, the 2017 Daily Breeze boys track Athlete of the Year, just finished up a stellar senior year at Redondo that culminated with a CIF State title in the pole vault.

Curran, however, is far from done piling up accolades.

Last week, Curran won the pole vault at the USATF Junior U20 nationals in the Pan-Am Games in Trujillo, Peru, with an effort of 17 feet.

Curran was competing against mostly college freshmen. He is expected to attend junior college next year and then transfer to a four-year school.
