After two afternoons of non-stop action, the IAAF Continental Cup Ostrava 2018 concluded on Sunday with Americas capturing the title after a fierce battle with Europe, the defending champions.

Competition records were broken in four events and another one was equalled during the two-day event, along with several national records.

Pole vault competition record broken by three women
At 4.70m, it was admittedly one of the weakest competition records heading into the weekend, but the women’s pole vault ended with three women adding a staggering 15 centimetres to the mark. Anzhelika Sidorova won on countback from Katerina Stefanidi and Sandi Morris in what was the first outdoor competition in which three women have vaulted 4.85m.
