MOORHEAD, Minn. – Jordan Washington, Aaron Teigen and Mitchell Meyer all claimed a pair of top-two finishes at the Cobber Duals and the University of Mary men’s indoor track & field team finished fourth out of nine teams overall with a record of 5-3.
Washington finished second in the 400 meter run, posting a clocking of 50.78 seconds, his best mark of the year. The senior from Katy, Texas, also anchored the 4×400 relay team that placed second. Rounding out the relay team was Meyer, Brandon Schmid and Jay Cooper.
A freshman from Dickinson, N.D., Meyer also ran second in the 600 meter run, covering the distance in 1:26.74.
A senior from Rugby, N.D., Teigen placed second overall in both the long jump (22-3 ¾) and the triple jump (44-11 ¾). His triple jump distance was a season-high.
Two other Marauders also posted runner-up finishes.
Travis Gavin claimed second in the weight throw with a toss of 52′ 7 ½”. He also was third in the shot put (47′ 7 ¾”).
Cody Phillips tied for second in the pole vault, clearing 15′ 1″. It was his top effort of the season.
In the triple jump, Jerrod Shaffner placed third. Taren Staudinger was fifth in the triple jump. Chase Smiley claimed fifth in the 60 meter hurdles.
The Marauders return to action at the Bison Invitational on February 8.
