Paige Sommers of Westlake High set a stadium record in the girls pole vault at the Carpinteria All-Comers Track & Field Meet on Saturday.

Sommers cleared 12-7 to establish a new record at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium. The previous mark was 12-6 set by Natasha Kolbo of St. Joseph in 2010.

Sommers, a junior-to-be at Westlake is, one of the top prep pole vaulters in the country. She finished second at the CIF State Championships and won the Southern Section Division 2 title. She has a personal best of 13-6, and cleared 13 feet or better 11 times during her sophomore year.
