Wrightstown track and field standout Bonnie Draxler may be best known for setting the state record of 12 feet, seven inches in the girls’ pole vault at the 2012 state meet.
Draxler repeated as the Division 2 girls’ pole vault champion this year, reaching 12-6 in a rain-dampened state meet, but she also won the 100 and 400 meters.
She was seeded fifth in the 100, which she won with a time of 12.57 seconds. Her time of :56.19 in the 400 was a tenth of a second away from another state record.
Despite all of her success, Draxler thinks even better marks are in her future.
“I keep working on my form and getting better technique,” she said, “so I can get on a bigger pole.”
