Four individuals with ties to California track & field are set to appear over the next two weeks at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, matching up with many of the nation’s top professional and collegiate athletes at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials to compete for a spot on the world’s biggest stage this summer at the Olympic Games in Paris. Fans based in the U.S. can watch the meet on NBC, Peacock, and USA.

To qualify for the Olympic Team, athletes must finish in the top three of their respective events and must either have reached the Olympic Standard or own a spot in the World Rankings quota. The latter is calculated by considering an athlete’s competitions throughout the season – both results and placings – through a point system. None of Cal’s four athletes competing in the U.S. Trials are currently within the World Rankings or have reached the Olympic Standard in their events; they will need to do so at the Trials.
