Matt Ludwig had to think back to when he was a senior at Lake Catholic to recall such a moment.

He and his teammates had just rallied to win a state championship in the 4×400 relay in Columbus. The celebration after with his teammates made all the difference.

On Jan. 25, it was a bit of a flashback as Ludwig created a buzz at the University of Akron when he rose to the top of the world rankings in the pole vault with an effort of 19 feet, 1 1/2 inches in a dual vs. Kent State.
