Less than two weeks after Westlake’s (CA) Paige Sommers captured a new outdoor national pole vault record of 14 feet, 9 inches at the Marmonte League Prelims/Finals, Olympia Capital High School’s Amanda Moll was hard at work just two and a half hours south in Chula Vista, California.

The high school sophomore from Washington state cleared a new sophomore class record of 14-7 at the fifth installment of the Chula Vista Performance meet at the ARCO Olympic Training Center, raising the bar by six inches on the previous mark. It’s also a 16-year-old age group record.
