Analysis of Russian doping finds female athletes four times more likely to be banned

A study into Russian doping in athletics has analysed the difference in performance between athletes who have served doping bans and those who haven’t, finding that clean athletes performed better in six out of 21 disciplines.

The study, “Is Russian Doping What it Appears to Be?” by Jovana Subić of RunRepeat, looked at 29,120 results by 354 Russian athletes in 4,691 events from 1993 to 2019.
