Cranston Hysong, one of the greatest Arizona high school pole vaulting coaches of all time, who helped his son Nick reach the Olympics in the sport, died on Sunday. He was 78.
He was diagnosed three years ago with cancer but outlived the prognosis by more than two years, his wife, Sue, said.
