A growing line had formed outside of LSU’s Carl Maddox Field House on Saturday.
Many fans yearned for a photo with the newest junior pole vaulting world record holder, Armand Duplantis.
Duplantis, a Lafayette High School junior, had recently vaulted a national prep record 18 feet, 6½ inches — the top vault of any pole vaulter his age, 17, has ever recorded.
Yet, he wanted to go higher. So he did, and his fans wanted a photo at the LSU High School Last Chance Qualifier.
