Ashland’s Caldwell and Grand Valley State’s Hixson Chosen As GLIAC Women’s Indoor

BAY CITY, Mich. –  Ashland University senior Macy Caldwell (Port Clinton, Ohio / Port Clinton) and Grand Valley State University senior Kristen Hixson (Remus, Mich./Chippewa Hills) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field “Athletes of the Week.”

 – Ashland University

Junior – Port Clinton, Ohio/Port Clinton

Ashland University senior Macy Caldwel competed at the University of Akron last weekend. She competed in the 60 hurdles and finished third in 8:56. That’s the seventh fastest time in the amond NCAA Division II athletes this season and is a provisional qualifier for nationals.

 

Kristen Hixson – Grand Valley State University
Senior – Remus, Mich./Chippewa Hills

Grand Valley State University senior Kristen Hixson extended her Division II-leading pole vault mark last weekend at the HIllsdale Wide Track Classic. Hixson cleared a mark of 4.20 meters (13’9.25″) and is now the top mark in Division II by four inches. Her 4.20 meter mark is also inside the top 20 of all collegiate heights cleared this year, regardless of division.
