GEORGIA Pickles has enjoyed success on a national level in her last two events.

The teenaged multi-eventer was in action at the England Athletics U15/U17 Combined Events Championships at Stoke before last weekend’s England Athletics U15/U17 Championships at Bedford.

The Crewe & Nantwich AC starlet did herself proud on both occasions, finishing sixth at Stoke and fifth in the pole vault at Bedford.

A club spokesman said: “Georgia was sixth overall at Stoke which was a real achievement, especially as she was 18th after the high jump and 12th overnight.

“At Bedford she was fifth in the U17 pole vault on countback after jumping 3.40m, which equalled her personal best.

“The second, third and fourth athletes all jumped the same height in an extremely close competition.

“The winning jump was only 10cm higher.

“Another of our athletes, Emma Fowler, came 12th in the U15 pole vault with a jump of 2.70 – equalling her pb.”
