Audie Wyatt, a former Texas A&M All-American representing Risen Performance in Arizona, cleared a facility record 18-6.75 (5.66m) on his first attempt Saturday to win the men’s elite section at the Vaulter Club Vaulter Magazine Grand Prix Spring event at the Big Red Barn facility in Sun City, Calif.
Wyatt, who was sidelined for four months following shoulder surgery and who only competed once during indoor season, achieved the best outdoor clearance by an American athlete this year and the No. 2 mark in the world. It was also his best clearance in more than 13 months.
