Aussie pole vault star Kurtis Marschall heads to WA to work with coach Alex Parnov

The young man who stole Australian hearts when he soared to Commonwealth Games gold on the Gold Coast last month has decided to put his pole vaulting future in the hands of the WA Institute of Sport.

As his idol Steve Hooker did before him, Kurtis Marschall has headed to Perth to advance his international career.

The 21-year-old South Australian will join Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Nina Kennedy under the tutelage Alex Parnov in the respected WAIS pole vault program.
