WACO, TX (KXXV) –Five Bears came away with event wins as Baylor track and field completed day one Friday at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa.
“It was overall a good first day,” head coach Todd Harbour said. “The pole vaulters had a nice day, and the 200/600 were also solid.”
KC Lightfoot and Tuesdi Tidwell made it a first-place double for Baylor in the pole vault.
Lightfoot, a freshman from Lee’s Summit, Mo., picked up his first collegiate win with a meet-record pole vault of 17-10.5 (5.45m). Riley Richards also surpassed the former meet record with a mark of 17-6.5 (5.35) to take second.
Tidwell, a sophomore from Early, Texas, also won her first collegiate title with a jump of 13-5.25 (4.10m), her indoor PR.
