Reno, Nevada –2012 Summer Games Olympian Becky Holliday will make her first trip to the Truckee Meadows following her ninth-place finish in London.Holliday, a 32-year-old pole vaulter who graduated from Reed High in Sparks, will be at the Second Annual Reno Tahoe International Sports Hall of Fame Gala on Saturday.
She is not among the five inductees but will be honored during the evening’s program.Holliday will be joined by former San Francisco Giants third baseman Bill Mueller, who will introduce 2012 inductee and former teammate Shawn Estes, and 2011 inductees Tamara McKinney and Franz Weber, both ski racers.In addition to Estes, the hall will induct Wayne Adams, a golfer, skier and the former commander of the Reno Air National Guard; Shannon Bahrke, a two-time Olympic medal winner in moguls from Tahoe City; and Joe Sellers, the longtime high school coach at Hug, Wooster and Manogue.
Lowry High School will also be honored for its accomplishments in the field of play, the classroom and the Winnemucca community.The gala is at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
