BHSU indoor track and field team ready for new season

SPEARFISH — The Black Hills State University men’s and women’s track and field teams are ramping up for the start of the indoor season, hosting the Yellow Jacket Holiday Open on Friday and Saturday.

Last season at the Indoor Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, the women’s team finished sixth while the men finished fifth. This season, the teams are looking to improve on those finishes.

“We would like to finish higher than last year,” said head track coach Seth Mischke. “Our ultimate goal is to be more competitive in each event, and we have some potential high-scoring people.”
