ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women’s track and field sophomore Rosemary Brinegar shined brightest for Navy at the Multi-Mix meet as she broke the Wesley A. Brown Field House record in the pole vault on Thursday. As a team, Navy recorded two ECAC-qualifying performances.
Brinegar outdid the entire pole vault field as she recorded a field house record mark of 12ft-8in (3.86m). The sophomore pole vaulter surpassed the previous field house mark, which was held by four different athletes, by 4.5 inches.
“It was great to see our athletes bounce back from a tough defeat last week,” Navy head coach Carla Criste said. “Rosemary (Brinegar) continues to get better and better each meet and it was great to see her capture the field house record at her own venue.”
