Brockport senior Zach Ferrara (Irondequoit) cleared a school-record height of 16 feet, 81/4 inches to win the pole vault at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Naperville, Ill. Friday.

Ferrara, the two-time SUNYAC champion, squared off against Wisconsin Lac Crosse’s Rob Rohe and North Central’s Josh Winder for the final jump of the day. Rohe and Winder both missed their height while Ferrara jumped the record-breaking mark to claim the first pole vault championship in Brockport history.

Chris Carter, Jesse Cleary-Krell, Tony George and Alex Brimstein (Webster Thomas) placed third in the distance medley relay (10:00.33) for Geneseo.

The RIT men’s distance medley relay team was seventh.

On the women’s side, Keira Wood, Allison Hoh (Honeoye Falls-Lima), Cailin Kowalewski and Alyssa Smith (Brighton) set a school record and finished third in the distance medley (11:34.65) for Geneseo.

Denison freshman Aedin Brennan (Harley-Allendale Columbia) finished 10th in the pentathlon with 3,314 points. Freshman Taylor Pierson was 10th in the long jump (17-4.75) for Nazareth.
