Brost Claims 8th Career Summit League Athlete of the Week

North Dakota State senior pole vaulter Leslie Brost claimed her eighth career Track & Field Athlete of the Week award from The Summit League on Tuesday following her performance at the Sun Angel Classic on April 6.

Brost claimed the outdoor track & field award for the sixth time in her career to go along with two indoor weekly awards. This marks her second honor this season.

Brost placed third in the premier pole vault flight at the Sun Angel Classic, clearing 13-09.75 (4.21m) to tie for the 12th-best mark in the nation. Brost finished ahead of three other vaulters ranked in the national top-15, including two athletes ranked higher than her, and she finished ahead of vaulters from three nationally-ranked teams in No. 1 Kansas, No. 8 Arizona State and No. 16 Illinois.

Brost placed fourth at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships in the pole vault to become an All-American. She is a three-time Summit League outdoor champion in the pole vault.
