Burke skies to pole vault title on day 1 of 2015 WIAC Championship

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) won the women’s pole vault title to lead the UW-Stevens Point women’s indoor track & field team on day one of the 2015 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Indoor Championship.

The Pointers currently sit in third place with 46 points, behind first place UW-La Crosse’s 84 and UW-Oshkosh’s 55.

Burke cleared 3.66 meters (12′ 0″) to secure the conference title in the event. Burke was the defending champion in the event, having secured the 2014 title with a height of 11′ 7″ (3.53m).

The championship continues on Saturday, Feb. 28 at UW-Platteville.
