Carroll’s Mika Robinson, Chad Hemsley receive Frontier track awards

HELENA — Carroll College’s Mika Robinson and Chad Hemsley were named Frontier Conference outdoor track and field athletes of the week, the conference announced Monday.

A senior from Billings West, Robinson used the last-chance Providence Open meet last week to qualify for nationals in the pole vault.

She went over a height of 3.55 meters (11-7 3/4 feet) to earn the NAIA B-Standard. She’s the fourth pole vaulter from Carroll College to qualify for nationals, joining teammates Shae Helterbran and Kelsey Bassett and Keaton Brady on the men’s side.

Robinson will be part of a 15-member Fighting Saint contingent that will represent Carroll at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama, from May 23-25.
