The Desert Dream-Last Hurrah track and field meet’s pole vaulting event at Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley drew the small yet loudest group of fans on Saturday evening.
The parents, coaches and fans located on the green space surrounding both sides of the runway rhythmically clapped their hands in unison and cheered to pump up the event’s biggest name, Queen Creek Casteel senior Taylor Starkey, Through her attempts in several rounds.
