In the first five track and field seasons after Texas Tech opened the Sports Performance Center, all eyes on winter Saturday afternoons often turned to the high-jump ring as Red Raider stars Trey Culver, JaCorian Duffield and Bradley Adkins frequently soared well above 7 feet in crowd-pleasing competitions.
This season, the spotlight might well shift over to the pole-vault pit as everyone keeps close watch on Zach Bradford, the new guy with the funky hair and the glittering resume.
