Texas announced on Monday that junior pole vaulter Kally Long will be sidelined indefinitely with a chest injury. Long was injured when she fell during a vault at this past weekend’s Husky Classic in Seattle.
“My heart goes out to Kally and her family and I am praying for her speedy and full recovery,” Texas coach Mario Sategna said in a press release. “She has been on the minds of our entire coaching staff. We’re all thankful to our athletic trainer Kelvin Flores for his help in treating Kally and for the care shown by the medical staff at Washington during the meet.
“We look forward to having Kally back soon and wish her the best.”
