Kelso’s McKenna Emmert soared to great heights as a senior pole vaulter at Central Washington University.
During the first day of the recent Great Northwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships held in Monmouth, Ore., Emmert won the women’s pole vault with a vault of 12 feet.
“The ladies had a big first day,” CWU head coach Kevin Adkisson said on the athletics website. “I am excited to have two champions already with McKenna in the pole vault and Alexa Shindruk in the women’s 10k.”
