Commonwealth Games 2018: WA pole vaulter Nina Kennedy bounces back from tough time

Perth’s Nina Kennedy has survived a dark sporting period to emerge as a medal prospect at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April.

Kennedy was dubbed a star on the rise when she broke the world junior record in 2015. But after missing a spot on the Australian team for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games a year later and having last year ruined by a torn quadriceps muscle, she became disillusioned with her vaulting pursuit.
