LONDON — Katerina Stefanidi, a Greek pole-vaulter and former Stanford University star, competed in only one event at the world track and field championships this month. She won the gold.
But when she and her husband, Mitchell Krier, boarded their plane out of London on Friday, they left with two medals in their baggage: one for her, one for him.
Krier is also Stefanidi’s coach, and for the first time in the history of these championships, coaches are receiving medals, too.
