Daugherty sets pole vault record at SRU Last Chance Qualifier

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. Cameron Daugherty broke a 10-year old Slippery Rock University record in the men’s pole vault to lead the Slippery Rock track and field teams at the SRU Last Chance Qualifier Friday night at the Bill Lennox Track.
Daugherty won the pole vault with an NCAA automatic qualifying clearance of 5.19 meters, just better than the previous Slippery Rock record of 5.18 meters, set by Nick Wilpula in 2003.

Daugherty’s mark is by far the best in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference this season and ranks fourth among all Division II athletes.

The automatic mark from Daugherty was joined by eight NCAA provisional marks from Rock athletes as Slippery Rock dominated its home meet.
