CLAREMONT — The Draughn, East Burke and Freedom indoor track and field teams participated in a Polar Bear meet Monday at Bunker Hill, and 10 county athletes brought home first-place finishes.

The headliner among them was Lady Wildcats junior Leanna Seagraves, a former indoor and outdoor state gold medalist in the pole vault.

Seagraves vaulted 11 feet, 3 inches to take the victory in a landslide. The height was a school record — topping her own mark of 11 feet even set at a South Caldwell outdoor meet in the spring of her sophomore season — as well as a new 2A state indoor record.
