Draxler wins indoor MWC pole vault title

San Diego State freshman Bonnie Draxler won the women’s pole vault title at the Mountain West Conference indoor track and field championships last month.

The Wrightstown native recorded a season-best vault of 13 feet, 81/2 inches to win the event on Feb. 27.

Draxler’s first-place finish helped the Aztecs finish third as a team. Her winning vault was the fifth-best mark in Mountain West Conference’s indoor track and field history.

Luedke slugs her way to WIAC honor

UW-Oshkosh junior Lindsey Luedke was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball positional player of the week for games played Feb. 23 through March 1.

The Bay Port alumna had a .455 batting average (5-for-11) with four home runs and nine RBIs in four games at the Finlandia University Dome Invite in Marquette, Mich.

Luedke, a Howard native, tied a WIAC record by hitting three home runs during the Titan’s 11-3 victory against Marian University on March 1. She drove in a career-high seven runs against the Sabres.
