Duplantis sets world junior record in pole vault

In the end, the three finalists in Saturday’s elite pole vault competition at the Texas Relays all lived up to their impressive reputations — but none more than 18-year-old Armand Duplantis from Lafayette, La., who set a world junior record for the second consecutive year at Myers Stadium and tied 2012 Olympic gold medalist Renaud Lavillenie and 2015 Texas Relays champion Shawn Barber with a meet and stadium record vault of 19 feet, 5 inches.
