Duplantis shatters college record, wins SEC Indoors pole vault

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Mondo Duplantis just got here, and already he’s running out of worlds to conquer.

The prodigious LSU freshman shattered the college indoor pole vault record with a clearance of 19-5 on Friday night at the SEC Indoors Championship hosted by Arkansas.

Duplantis, the reigning European pole vault champion jumping last summer for his mother’s native Sweden, surpassed the previous mark of 19-4.75 set by Akron’s Shawn Barber in 2015.
