EIU posts six firsts at Hilltopper Relays Riebold and Mick Viken

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Jade Riebold bettered her own school pole vault record and Eastern Illinois me’s track team n had five first-place finishes Saturday at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Relays.

The Panthers totaled 22 top three finishes.

Riebold was the lone women’s first place finisher winning the pole vault with a height of 14 feet, 3.25 inches, which is an inch and a half better than her previous school record mark.

Mick Viken led a 1-2 finish for the EIU men in the pole vault. Viken cleared 17-2.75 for the win and teammate Eric Gordon was second at 16’0.75”.

EIU won both men’s hurdle events for the second straight week. Dominique Hall won the men’s 110-meter high  hurdles with a time of 14.37 and was second in the 400 internediate hurdles with a time of 53.01. Daniel Trevor won the 400 hurdles for the Panthers with a time of 52.96. Lamarr Pottinger was third in the men’s 110 hurdles at 14.65.

Calvin Edwards won the men’s 200 dash with a time of 21.20 and was second in the 100 in 10.59.

David Johansson won the men’s javelin for the third straight week. His winning throw this week was 195-4. Condia Smith was second for the women in the javelin with a toss of 123’.

Jalisa Paramore had a pair of top three finishes to lead the women. She was third in the long jump covering 19-5.50”, which ranks fifth best on EIU’s career list. She was third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.87.

Erika Ramos, Paige Biehler and Stephanie Peisker all had top three finishes on the track for the EIU women. Ramos was second in the 800 at 2:14.83. Biehler was third in the 800 at 2:18.07. Peisker was third in the 1500 at 4:39.87.

Bryce Basting and Ephraim Dorsey had top three finishes for the men on the track. Basting was second in the 800m at 1:53.95. Dorsey was third in the 800m at 1:53.96.

Bryce Hogan was third in the men’s long jump clearing 240.25.

EIU had three relay teams post top three finishes. The women’s 4×400 was third at 3:59.36. The men’s 4×400 was second at 3:17.77 and the men’s 4×100 placed second at 41.91.
