Kiwi pole vaulter Eliza McCartney has surpassed her own national record with a winning clearance of 4.94m at Jockgrim, Germany.
The meeting is a pole vault-only event that regularly attracts the world’s top performers. McCartney’s clearance puts her atop the world rankings for the year and third all-time, edging American Jenny Suhr’s 4.93m in April.
