ATTICA — For Morgan England, the goal hasn’t changed.
The Seneca East pole vaulter is making her fourth consecutive trip to the Division III state track meet in Columbus.
In her sophomore season, she finished fifth. Last year, she took second.
So there’s only one thing left to do.
Well, two things, actually.
“I want to jump 13-1, not only so I can have the state record, but I want to beat my dad, too,”England said.
Her father is Gary England, the vaulting coach for the Tigers. He was a regional-qualifying vaulter in high school.
So his daughter is not only after a state title — which would be his first as a coach — but also after a family mark.
Gary said he feels like she can do it.
